I’m not a numbers girl. So I don’t know what to expect when I’m told that some mascara can give me 230% more volume. But having sensitive eyes, I do know that most mascaras that claim to be gentle fail to give the volume, length, or curl I want. Formula
Gentle, fiber-infused formula.
The most important benefit of the Clinique High Impact High-Fi Full Volume Mascara is that it’s enriched with fiber. In case you’re not familiar, fiber mascaras are infused with tiny synthetic fibers, which visibly thicken the lashes and add volume. That’s one of the reasons why this mascara delivers such amazing volume with a single coat of application.
Additionally, I have sensitive eyes that water easily. But the formula is incredibly gentle with its nourishing blend of oils like coconut and argan. It’s fragrance-free too. I’ve been wearing this for weeks in a row now. And I’ve never experienced any irritation or itching.
The formula is not waterproof but it is smudge-proof. I normally have to do several touch-ups to fix mascara smudging and I end up with messy-looking eye makeup at the end of the day. But I’ve never experienced any smudging under my eyes or over my eyelids with the Hi-Fi Mascara.
Brush and Wand
Tapered tip precision wand.
I have hooded eyes so I’m picky when it comes to mascara wands. Big wands are uncomfortable for me to use especially on the outer corners of my eyes. It gets messy.
The Hi-Fi Mascara has a tapered tip brush wand. So it’s thicker on the root and thinner on the tip. This allows me to grab every single lash on the outer and inner corners of my eyes. No mess and no lash goes unnoticed.
The bristles don’t just slide between lashes but thicken them with every swipe. Because of this, each coat counts and makes a visible difference.
Pigment
Matte, black, and fade-proof.
The mascara comes in black and brown. The one I use is black and it has a satisfyingly matte finish. The pigmented formula gives definition instantly starting from your first coat. The best part is that the color does not fade.
Application
Clump-free, smudge-free, easy-to-layer.
Normally, I get volume by applying mascara on both sides of my lashes: inside and outside. While this gives me amazing volume, it can cause clumping and smudging and can feel heavy on the lashes.
With Hi-Fi Mascara, I focus on the outside of my lashes because the volume I get is enough. At the same time, I can comfortably use it on both sides because of the smooth application and the clump-free formula.
Plus, despite that it’s a fiber-enriched formula, which can actually cause flakes, there is zero flaking with Hi-Fi Mascara!
Longevity
Long-lasting without fading.
High Impact High-Fi Mascara promises 12-hour wear. Again, I’m not a numbers girl. All I know is that I go out, work out, drive around, cook, and hang out and my mascara holds a curl and stays on my lashes without fading! And I’m happy with what I see in the mirror in the evening.
The Verdict
At least 220% volume.
Hi-Fi Full Volume Mascara is a rare mascara that promises and delivers on all fronts. First off, I love that it gives visible volume starting from the first swipe. I can feel the bristles grabbing and combing each lash. Secondly, the application is a breeze because I can layer the mascara without clumping or flaking. Lastly, the color intensity stays the same all day and my lashes still look lifted after several hours without smudging. If you want volume without sacrificing length, curl, or a gentle formula, I can swear by Clinique High Impact Hi-Fi Full Volume Mascara.
As you can see below, my lashes look thick and voluminous. I didn’t use a curler, or lash primer. This is two coats of mascara and that’s it! They weren’t kidding with the volumizing effects. I’d say that’s at least 229% volume right there!
Removal
Easy removal.
I don’t want to sound difficult but again, I have sensitive eyes. So for me, easy removal is just as important as easy application. I always double-cleanse to remove my mascara because I can’t have any trace of eye makeup lingering in there. The Hi-Fi Mascara is not waterproof but it is water-resistant. It comes off easily with just a little amount of Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm and doesn’t even need any scrubbing. I don’t experience any lash fallouts during removal.
