Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen Review

People who don’t regularly wear sunscreen are treated like people who don’t like puppies. Maybe even worse! Before you start sunscreen-shaming, remember that the fact that sunscreen is important doesn’t make it any less boring. So I’m always supportive of innovative formulations that don’t feel like, well, sunscreen. That’s why I wanted to try and review Fenty Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen. And it made me love sunscreen!

Sunscreen’s makeover is relatively new. And most of us still associate it with a heavy feel, white residue, or stickiness. Finding an SPF that looks good and feels good is no easy task. I’m 35 and I have combination/oily skin.

I use a prescription retinoid for anti-aging purposes, which tends to make my skin dry. I also have rosacea, which makes my skin sensitive to pretty much anything and everything. These things don’t leave you with a lot of options to choose from.

And if you’re familiar with retinoids, you know the importance of wearing sunscreen regularly. I can safely say that I stumbled upon my new staple. Keep reading for my honest review of Fenty’s Hydra Vizor along with why you’re going to love it too.

The Product

Starting with a basic skincare routine kit, Rihanna launched 3 skincare products back in 2020. Apart from the SPF moisturizer, the skincare line included a cleanser (Total Cleans’r Remove-It-All Cleanser), and a face toner (Fat Water Pore Refining Toner Serum).

Fenty Hydra Vizor is a daily moisturizer with SPF. It’s oil-free, gluten-free, and vegan. It’s reef-safe, meaning that the sunscreen does not contain oxybenzone. It moisturizes, gives you daily sun protection with SPF 30, and works as a makeup primer as well.

The Ingredients

The most notable feature of Hydra Vizor is its oil-free formulation. The moisturizer is easy on the emollients but heavy on the humectants. It hydrates with two forms of hyaluronic acid, aloe, gluconolactone, and glycerin.

And it locks moisture in with safflower seed oil, which is non-comedogenic and is a great moisturizer for oily and combination skin types that are prone to acne.

The SPF moisturizer also contains niacinamide, which helps with acne, dryness, enlarged pores, and hyperpigmentation. It’s also packed with antioxidant-rich Kalahari melon extract and free radical scavenger vitamin E.

The formulation is targeted towards brightening the skin and helping with dark spots in the long run. Well, antioxidants, plus sunscreen, plus niacinamide is your recipe to protect the skin against UV-induced hyperpigmentation.

The Sunscreen

Hydra Vizor is made with chemical sunscreen, which is generally more aesthetically pleasing than mineral sunscreens. Traditional mineral sunscreens tend to leave a white cast on the skin, which also makes it difficult for people with darker skin tones to use them.

That’s hardly the case for chemical sunscreens because they’re practically invisible. However, chemical sunscreens are not recommended for people with sensitive skin or rosacea as they can irritate the skin. It has been more than a month since I started using Hydra Vizor and my skin did not react to it at all!

The Texture

Fenty Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer SPF Review
Let the 12-year-old inside you giggle at the shape of the cream.

The SPF moisturizer is incredibly light and feels like a hyaluronic acid moisturizer. The lightweight gel-like cream comes out pink and disappears into the skin. The invisible sunscreen has a subtle dewy finish.

It leaves the skin replenished and protected with a healthy glow -not grease! There’s no pilling or a sticky feel no matter how long it stays on the skin. Plus, it doesn’t interfere with your makeup.

On the contrary, it was super easy to apply foundation on top of it. And it eliminated retinol flakiness completely! It’s great as a makeup primer as well as a healthy base for no-makeup makeup days.

The Fragrance

The moisturizer smells like a basket of fresh cherries, which I couldn’t stop smelling. Its addictive scent makes you overuse the product! If you don’t mind fragrance, the moisturizer is like a feast for your senses.

Keep in mind that fragrance is another ingredient you should avoid if you have sensitive skin or rosacea. But again, my skin did not react at all.

The Packaging

The product has recyclable packaging and is refillable. So you buy the package once and only buy the refill after that. This makes it environmentally friendly as it prevents unnecessary waste.

So Fenty Skin sets a great example as a company that’s doing what it can to promote sustainable beauty and eco-friendly beauty products. The refill option is available only for the full-size product and not the one in the travel-size starter kit.

The Verdict

Fenty Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer SPF Review

If your skin type requires oil-free formulations, if you’re on the lookout for a multi-tasking moisturizer that contains SPF, if you find it difficult to find a sunscreen that feels nice on the skin, or if you’re dealing with sunscreen pilling, Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Moisturizer SPF is going to be your new favorite. This time, you don’t have any excuse to “forget” wearing sunscreen!
