I love experimenting with skincare products and trying new skincare brands. Well, except for when I’m shopping for anti-aging products. I believe in legacy brands when it comes to anti-aging. It’s because when you’re already frustrated with wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of aging like loss of elasticity, you can’t afford to experiment! I need results and I need proof!
That’s why no matter how often I fill up my beauty cabinet with new products, one shelf is reserved for my beloved anti-aging products mostly from brands with a proven track record. I’ve been using these for years!
While I know that wrinkles are unavoidable, I love having a complexion that looks radiant, vibrant, fresh, and rested! I believe that you can have wrinkles and have that!
So if you’re new to anti-aging or you’ve been wanting to check out some tried and tested anti-aging products, here’s your chance! Keep reading for the best anti-aging products you can rely on for healthy-looking, youthful skin.
1. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Gel Creme
I don’t know about you but I’m very self-conscious about the lines around my eyes. The biggest thing that helped my under-eyes look less puffy and more rested was getting enough sleep. A good eye cream is the next best thing! This is the anti-aging eye cream I always come back to.
It’s a gel eye cream made with antioxidants like vitamin E, and caffeine. Plus, it looks great under makeup too, and acts as an eye primer. It doesn’t interfere with your concealer and make it flaky or patchy. It also packs hydrating hyaluronic acid and squalane to moisturize around the eyes.
Key Ingredients: Peptides, caffeine, hyaluronic acid
Key Benefits: Minimizes the look of dark circles
Size: 0.5 oz/15 ml
Good To Know: Great for all around the eye
Also Consider: Clinique All About Eyes Under Eye Cream ($38)
This is also a gel-based eye cream that has caffeine and green tea. It’s a more budget-friendly option but is equally lightweight, fast-absorbing, and also allergy-tested. You can use it under makeup too.
2. Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate
Antioxidants like vitamin C, vitamin E, and vitamin A are your skin’s best friend. But incorporating an antioxidant serum into your daily routine is not always a picnic. That’s why this is one of my favorite antioxidant serums.
It infuses the skin with a form of vitamin C. The fast-absorbing consistency is very light and pleasant and there’s no sticky residue. Apply it in the morning, top it off with your moisturizer, and then move on to makeup. That’s it!
Key Ingredients: Vitamin C, bifidus prebiotics
Key Benefits: Hydrates, temporarily plumps
Size: 1 oz/30 ml
Also Consider: Sunday Riley CEO Vitamin C Brightening Serum ($85)
If you prefer a higher-concentration vitamin C serum and your skin could use the extra moisture, try this lotion-like vitamin C serum. The formula is a bit more intense and helps fight free radicals.
3. Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Retinoid Night Oil
If you’ve never used retinol before, here’s the gist. Retinol is a form of vitamin A and the gold standard when it comes to topical anti-aging ingredients. And this retinol oil is made with blue tansy and chamomile oils. It’s blue and it smells amazing!
Use it once a week in your evening routine. Apply it as the last step of your skincare routine before bedtime. You’ll see that your face looks incredibly fresh, rested, and hydrated in the morning. Give it a few weeks and you’ll see that your overall complexion looks smoother and more radiant!
Key Ingredients: Blue tansy oil
Key Benefits: Helps improve skin smoothness
Size: 0.5 oz/15 ml
Good To Know: Cruelty-free, paraben-free
Also Consider: Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM Night Serum ($65)
If you’re somewhat familiar with retinol, here’s an alternative. This one is made with time-release retinol, so it’s great for normal to dry skin. It’s enriched with antioxidants like vitamins C and E for maximum benefits too.
4. Korres Wild Rose Night Brightening Sleeping Facial
If you’ve ever used a night cream before, then you know that night creams tend to be a bit thicker in texture. This is no accident because we all can afford to maximize moisture when we’re asleep and there’s no makeup involved. And this is one of my favorites. It’s an incredible night cream that aims to moisturize and improve the look of skin texture.
First off, that emollient base packs hyaluronic acid, and sunflower seed oil. More importantly, it has rose extract and vitamin C. So it helps fight environmental aggressors. The cream thins out as you apply it and it smells like cherries, which is a treat for the senses! If you’re dealing with dull, lackluster skin, apply an even layer every night to achieve softer, luminous skin.
Key Ingredients: Hyaluronic acid, rose extracts
Key Benefits: Moisturizes, brightens the appearance of uneven skin tone
Size: 1.35 oz/40 ml
Pair It With: Korres Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Gel-Cream ($38.50)
This is a nourishing daily moisturizer that I love when my skin feels extra dry. Though they say this is gel cream, it’s more creamy than it sounds. And it instantly gives you this luminous skin.
5. Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads
No anti-aging skincare routine is complete without exfoliation. And when I say exfoliation, I mean chemical exfoliants like glycolic acid and lactic acid. I’ve seen that my skin doesn’t react to face scrubs as favorably as it used to. That’s why I prefer the gentle lactic acid to help smooth out and brighten the look of my skin.
These are peel pads you can use weekly or twice a week. I can do it twice because I have been exfoliating for years! Plus, the pads are a bit gritty so you get to have a bit of physical exfoliation as well. I love these for getting rid of dead skin cells and dullness.
Key Ingredients: Lactic acid, papain
Key Benefits: Exfoliates, smooths and brightens skin’s appearance
Size: 60 pads
Also Consider: First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads ($50)
If your skin is not that sensitive and you can afford to add some glycolic acid into the mix, you can try these pads. These have both glycolic acid and lactic acid. But these also contain cucumber, lemon peel, and licorice root. Plus, FAB is cruelty-free.
So these are some of my favorite anti-aging products I can recommend to anybody who’s following an anti-aging skincare routine. Listen, anti-aging is anti-aging. Whether you’re in your 30s, 40s, or 50s, the ingredients are the same. Retinol, vitamin C, peptides -these are the ingredients that work. But what makes them work for your unique skin is the product they’re formulated into. That’s why anti-aging products that have been around for a while and have had the chance to be improved multiple times over the years, in my opinion, are the ones that deserve your attention.
