I haven’t liked wearing a lot of makeup ever since I achieved clear skin. For me, blush is pretty much the only makeup product that I like to use to express myself and feel good about myself whenever I’m in the mood for coloring up a bit. That’s why I only write about blushes here. And I can’t talk about blush without talking about this product! So here’s my full review of the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand High Blush in the shade Pinkgasm and why it’s a total winner for blush girlies!

The Gist

Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand High Blush is easily one of my top 3 liquid blushes. The super-light consistency gives my cheeks that dreamy, absolutely seamless glowy finish. I love how easy it is to apply it and how quickly I can get naturally rosy cheeks. It’s pigmented, blendable, and buildable and lasts long. It’s beginner-friendly and I don’t need any know-how to apply it properly. It complements every single type of makeup I wear and even though I’m annoyed by the plastic packaging that causes a messy application, it is still worth every penny!

Formula

This is a liquid blush that comes out of the tube as a lightweight gel. Its incredibly thin texture is very easy to blend. It doesn’t dry down quickly, so you can comfortably spread and blend for a perfect seamless finish.

There’s no discomfort like a sticky feeling. The texture is very lightweight and airy and is a nice mix of pigments and highlighter. Also, I’m prone to acne so I pay attention to liquid and cream makeup products. And this formula has never broken me out!

Shade

The shade I’m using is Pinkgasm which is a very soft, cool-toned pink with golden shimmer formulated very finely into it. It adds a nice touch of warmth to the complexion.

What I absolutely love about the shade is that it’s buildable. So while the first layer of blush gives you the true color of the shade, the second layer actually deepens the color and makes it look richer, more pigmented, and intense.

I love that for creating the sunburned blush look. I have fair/medium skin with neutral undertones and I like the way it looks on my complexion.

Finish

The Beauty Light Wand High Blush has a glowy finish that makes it look like you’re wearing both blush and highlighter. It’s this soft diffused highlighter with a seamless effect and without harsh edges.

Even if you blend the blush close to the under-eye area, it doesn’t look out of place. The golden shimmer is not chunky or glittery. It’s literally the best consistency you can expect from a glowy blush like this.

Packaging

Packaging is the only bad thing I can say about the product. This is a plastic tube with a sponge tip applicator and has a twist top to switch on and off to prevent leakage. You gently squeeze the tube, then the sponge expands as it absorbs the blush inside and then it squeezes out the blush.

But even if you twist it off, the lid touches the sponge when you try to put it back on, and gets all around the edges of the tube, resulting in a messy application for next time. My hands get messy every time I use the blush and it’s actually wasteful.

While the sponge alone is really soft and nice for dabbing the product directly on your cheeks and applying it evenly, the messy part is really annoying.

Staying Power

Don’t even worry about it because the blush stays put all day! It doesn’t break or separate or look patchy even though I don’t set my blush with powder or setting spray. The color doesn’t fade.

Application

I’m an overblusher myself. I like overdoing it but for everyday makeup, I’d say less is more with this highly pigmented blush. Here’s how you can quickly and easily apply it.

Start by lightly dabbing the sponge tip three times on the high points of your cheeks. Blend it using your fingers and blend it in place. If you have pores, I wouldn’t recommend spreading the blush too much as the glow might draw attention to the pores and make them look bigger.

It’s not easy to make a liquid blush work but trust me when I say that it’s as easy as dabbing your fingers onto the cheeks to get the most natural-looking flush. No uneven application or splotchy look!

You can also use a beauty blender or a brush to apply the blush but I feel like every single pigment counts and you don’t want to waste such an expensive product.

How It Looks

Below I’m wearing a very light layer of the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand High Blush in Pinkgasm and I’m only wearing concealer under my eyes and a little bit on my face.

I applied the blush with my fingers, blended it towards my temples, and added a little bit onto the bridge of my nose. As you can see, it creates this glossy, pearlescent finish, which is amazing for dewy makeup looks. I’m not exaggerating when I say that it blends seamlessly into my skin.

What Others Are Saying

I use this for every single type of makeup and I love trying different blush placements with this. I use it on foundation-free makeup days to look fresh. I sometimes pair it with my liquid bronzer to get a dewy, wet, glossy look. It just works with everything.
